This is the photo created out of the images taken of my final in Sculpture. This project was really fun to do and I have plans to continue to play with the images and see what combinations I can come up with.

Work completed so far...

This is for our final project. I am making a fairytale forest where I will have frames on trees with doorknobs which act as a kind of "portal" to that particular tale... Each frame will have something that represents that specific tale and there will be signs above the frames that have an important lesson or quote from that tale. Below are some pics of my work in progress.

This is my work space in the garage..

Can you guess which farytale this is??

This is one half done frame...

The last pic is a little fun with Great Stuff insulation foam... its awesome... and works and a wonderful glue too!!

Art Show Sculpture

Our next assignment is going to be a sculpture done in two weeks for the art show in April. My idea is to have a mobile, it is something that i can make fairly easily, something I will want to hang around after the show, and something that I can get done in two weeks.
I have tons of scanned in images of people (family members) from the early 1900's to the mid 50's and I would like to incorporate them into the sculpture as well. I want the whole thing to be in blacks and whites and greys and to have a little bit of a jeweled look to it so I will also be using beads. I just have to figure out what kind and how many and how I want the pictures to look as well. I want them to be double sided and, if possible, printed on a hard surface. Below are some inspirations for my piece.

Project 1 - Self Portrait

These are the shots for my self portrait in clay. I wanted to make something that I could still sit around and not be embarrassed to look at every day. I may cast it in cement and use it as a garden statue.

What is sculpture?

In simple terms, sculpture is anything that takes up space.
